FULL STOP • It may be longer than a pregnant pause, but who cares? It takes more than a moment to think.
A full stop by any other name is a period. A pause. Oxford calls it a "complete cessation." And if you find yourself of British, Canadian and Commonwealth stock, you have likely come across the mark. But without delimiting the definition, a full stop also prompts evaluation.
This site is my verse in the valuation and validation of journalism.
The notion of evaluation naturally lends itself to the journalistic craft. Though justly jaundiced, journalists see the world in shades of red. In the wake of convergence and a 'new-new media,' the need for earnest evaluation creates a maxim. The need for a pause -- a full stop -- becomes the order of the day. Period.
